Job Description
Head of Retail & Stock

Location: Remote (UK-based) with regular travel to salons nationwide

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (45 hours per week, Monday-Friday)

Salary: £55k - £70k + travel expenses + performance bonus

About the Role

At RUSH Hair, we are looking for a commercially driven and hands on Head of Retail & Stock to elevate our in salon retail performance across the UK.

This is a high impact role focused on driving retail growth, improving operational processes, and creating best in class visual merchandising standards across a diverse salon estate. You will work cross functionally with salon teams, senior leadership, and key brand partners to maximise revenue and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities Stock Control & Operational Processes
  • Design and implement scalable stock control processes across the business
  • Ensure consistent stock management, ordering, and reporting across all locations
  • Drive compliance and accountability at salon level
  • Reduce waste, shrinkage, and missed sales opportunities due to stock issues
Retail Growth & Commercial Performance
  • Identify and implement initiatives to increase retail sales per client
  • Analyse performance data to spot opportunities and underperformance
  • Work closely with salon managers to drive retail KPIs and accountability
  • Introduce campaigns, incentives, and training to improve product sell through
Visual Merchandising & In Salon Experience
  • Develop and implement visual merchandising standards across all salons
  • Adapt merchandising strategies to suit varying salon layouts and customer demographics
  • Ensure retail displays are premium, consistent, and commercially effective
  • Conduct regular salon visits to audit standards and provide hands on support
Brand Partnerships & Commercial Collaborations
  • Lead relationships with key partners such as L'Oréal
  • Identify and launch innovative partnership opportunities to drive incremental revenue
  • Manage activations, promotions, and joint campaigns
  • Act as the internal lead for retail partner related initiatives

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a similar retail, merchandising, or stock operations role
  • Strong commercial mindset with a track record of driving revenue growth
  • Experience building processes and systems from scratch
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Confident communicator able to influence at all levels, from salon teams to senior leadership
  • Self starter with a proactive, solutions focused approach
