PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £105,000 - £120,000 on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLEThe Head of Product Analytics - Portfolio provides strategic direction and leadership for how product data is used to drive decision-making across the portfolio. This role ensures that product teams and leadership have the insights, frameworks, and analytical capabilities needed to measure success, optimise performance, and prioritise investment.
They will work closely with the other heads of data to identify opportunities and gaps in reporting and self-serve capabilities, ensuring all data teams are aligned around a shared purpose and consistent messaging.
It is both a strategic and operational position setting the vision for Product Analytics while ensuring high-quality, trusted insights directly influence product, audience, and business outcomes.
This role is instrumental in translating product strategy into measurable, data-driven action. By providing a unified framework for measurement, insight, and performance storytelling, the role ensures that strategy is executed effectively, and progress is transparent.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT- Define and deliver the product analytics strategy aligned with the organisation's product vision and strategic goals.
- Champion a culture of evidence-based and experiment-driven decision-making across product, design, engineering, and operations.
- Represent Product Analytics at senior leadership forums, providing clear, data-backed perspectives on product performance and portfolio opportunities.
- Shape and communicate the strategic narrative on how data drives value across the product portfolio.
Analytics Products & Insights
- Develop and oversee measurement frameworks, KPI models, and data products that help product teams understand performance and impact.
- analytics tools and processes support experimentation, optimisation, and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.
- Translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations that inform product roadmaps, prioritisation, and portfolio investment decisions.
Data Quality & Governance
- Partner with engineering, data, and governance teams to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and scalable across the product ecosystem.
- Establish and maintain standards for product data instrumentation, tracking, and metric definitions, ensuring trust and alignment across teams.
- Act as a custodian of key metrics, ensuring consistency and clarity across the portfolio.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide data-driven storytelling to senior stakeholders, supporting strategic decisions around growth, retention, and customer experience.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to identify data needs and translate them into actionable insights.
- Build strong relationships across the organisation to ensure analytics plays a central role in shaping product direction and performance evaluation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Product Analytics team, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and excellence.
- Build capability in self-serve analytics and experimentation, empowering teams to make informed decisions quickly.
- Partner with embedded analytics and data science teams to ensure alignment and shared standards across functions.
- Proven experience leading analytics or data teams in a digital product environment.
- Strong understanding of product metrics (acquisition, activation, retention, engagement, monetisation, etc.).
- Advanced analytical and storytelling skills, able to turn complex data into clear strategic insights.
- Experience embedding analytics into product culture and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Experience developing teams and scaling analytical capability across a large, multi-product organisation.
- Familiarity with A/B testing, experimentation platforms, and modern product analytics tools.
- Experience in a media, content, or platform-based product environment.
