About the role

We're looking for a Head of Performance Marketing to lead our digital acquisition efforts across Buyagift and Red Letter Days. Reporting to the Marketing Director, you'll play a key role in growing our customer base through best-in-class performance strategies across Paid Search, Paid Social, Organic Social, SEO, and Affiliates.

This role can be interim or permanent, and we're looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.

You'll be responsible for both strategy and delivery shaping how we drive traffic and ensuring marketing spend delivers strong ROI. You'll lead a talented team, manage agency relationships, and collaborate closely with CRM, UX/Product, and Analytics teams to build a joined-up approach to performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and deliver an aligned multi-channel marketing strategy
  • Own the marketing spend budget and drive ROI across all acquisition channels
  • Manage our new outsourced performance agency and lead the optimisation roadmap
  • Monitor and analyse channel performance against traffic and ROI goals
  • Report on the impact of channel mix evolution with actionable insights
  • Work closely with CRM and UX/Product teams to ensure traffic converts
  • Analyse cross-channel attribution and competitor activity
  • Forecast traffic generation and performance targets
  • Report with authority in Trade meetings and lead performance forecasting
  • Enhance reporting and effectiveness tooling including MMM and multi-touch attribution
About You
  • 10+ years' experience in performance marketing, ideally in a B2C ecommerce setting
  • Proven success across key online channels with hands-on Paid Search expertise
  • Experience managing performance marketing at scale, including budgeting and strategy
  • Skilled in campaign measurement and optimisation for marketing efficiency
  • Experience leading a multi-layered team with strong coaching and leadership skills
  • Proven track record of running complex traffic generation programmes
  • Deep experience with analytics tools (e.g. Adobe Analytics)
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Ideally experienced in both agency and client-side environments
  • Confident communicator to senior stakeholders and board level
