Head of Multi Professional Education & DevelopmentThe closing date is 22 February 2026
The post holder is responsible for maintaining and developing high quality education and training for nursing, midwifery and AHPs at LNWH NHS Trust, ensuring the relevant regulatory standards are met.
They will provide expert advice and guidance to the Trust on nursing, midwifery and AHP education and is responsible for developing and maintaining close working relationships with external stakeholders and partners.
The post holder will support senior divisional teams by providing leadership and strategic oversight of Training, Development and Education, including apprenticeships, to facilitate workforce development. They will develop creative solutions in collaboration with professional leads and operational managers to support emerging trends and themes in the development of new roles, supported by a robust educational framework.
They will take responsibility and accountability for the development and advancement of the education agenda broadening the recognition of outstanding Nurses and Midwives to include Registered Nursing Associates and unregistered support staff across the Trust.
They will provide strategic leadership by fostering excellent relationships with partner Universities and multiple stakeholders within the Trust. The post holder will be expected to work closely with senior leaders to achieve the delivery of the Our Way Forward strategy.
This role is open to Nurses, Midwives and AHP.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder is required to have specialist knowledge related to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for LNWH, ensuring fair and equitable access to CPD funding for the multi professional workforce, including other professional groups not classified under the AHP group.
They will have the authority to lead a strategic workstream for undergraduate education. This involves ensuring high quality placement experiences for learners, continuously expanding placements in accordance with NHS England (NHSE) strategy and promoting LNWH as an employer of choice for newly qualified nurses, midwives and AHPs.
The post holder will have the authority to strategically and operationally lead the multi professional apprenticeship workstream, directing the implementation of all apprenticeships, clinical and non clinical.

Person Specification Education and Qualifications- Higher professional or management degree
- Specialist and expert knowledge in the education of the Multi Professional Workforce.
- Post graduate certificate in Education or equivalent
- Proven leadership and management experience
- Experience of leading and implementing national education strategic objectives across systems.
- Experience of reviewing, contributing to and managing education contracts working with internal and external stakeholders - maintaining legal, professional and governance standards.
- Significant experience of education commissioning and negotiating education contracts to ensure quality of education within a defined budget.
- Experience of managing complex change projects
- Experience of developing business cases for strategic workforce investment
- Excellent Engagement and facilitation skills with stakeholders in order to agree and manage educational and development requirements.
