A progressive, values-led housing organisation managing approximately 5,000 homes is seeking a strategic Head of IT e to lead its digital, data and technology agenda.

This is a newly created leadership role with full executive and board exposure, offering the opportunity to shape and modernise technology, elevate insight capability and drive meaningful transformation across the organisation.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional "IT operations" role.

The organisation has stable foundations and solid cyber controls in place. The focus now is on:

  • Reviewing and reshaping the existing IT roadmap

  • Modernising legacy systems in a financially realistic way

  • Elevating Business Intelligence from reporting to strategic insight

  • Introducing structured AI thinking and governance

  • Strengthening digital services to improve customer outcomes

  • Providing assurance to Audit & Risk Committee and Board

You will lead IT, Programme and Data functions, bringing them together under a clear and commercially grounded strategy.

What We're Looking For

You will be a forward-thinking digital leader who combines technical credibility with strong communication and commercial awareness.

We are interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Experience owning or refreshing an IT / digital roadmap

  • Strong BI and data capability, with evidence of improving insight maturity

  • Experience modernising legacy systems and building robust business cases

  • Exposure to board or audit committee reporting

  • Oversight of cyber security, governance and disaster recovery

  • Leadership of multi-disciplinary teams, ideally in remote or distributed environments

Housing sector experience is advantageous but not essential. Experience within a regulated, resource-conscious or not-for-profit environment would be equally valuable.

Above all, you must be able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical stakeholders.

Culture & Working Environment

This is a remote-first organisation with a geographically dispersed workforce. The successful candidate must be comfortable leading distributed teams and embedding accountability and performance without reliance on physical office presence.

If you are a strategic digital leader ready to shape the next phase of an organisation's technology and data journey, we would love to hear from you.
