Job Description

Your Mission

You'll own our shift from local, server-centric setups to a cloud-first reality - and make it visible in colleagues' day-to-day work across our sites. Aligned with the Director of IT, you drive end-to-end delivery: turn complex migrations into smooth cutovers, keep operations dependable, and uphold pragmatic, auditable platform standards. As a trusted sparring partner and hands on lead (no line management), you mentor teammates, steer partners to outcomes, and practice thoughtful extreme ownership so the right improvements ship, stick, and scale.

Your Responsibilities

Projects: M&A Local-to-Cloud & Tenant Alignment

  • Scope & deliver migrations (identities, devices, data/permissions, mail/collab) incl. waves, cutover, rollback, hypercare.
  • Execute local-to-cloud moves and quiet tenant alignment (incl. Microsoft) with clear acceptance & risk logs.
  • Provide decision-ready updates; hand over cleanly to run ops with reusable playbooks.
IT Operations
  • Own ITSM (incident/request/change), catalogue/KB, KPI dashboard; turn signals into improvements.
  • Run endpoint lifecycle (zero-touch, baselines, encryption/patch, inventory/returns).
  • Ensure Day 1 ready JML, tidy collaboration spaces, light guardrails vs. shadow IT.
SysAdmin / Sys Ops
  • Operate IDP/SSO (roles, access reviews, least privilege, automated provisioning).
  • Maintain baselines, monitoring/alerts, stable integrations (HR IDP/ITSM/DMS).
  • Embed security hygiene (EDR, patch/backup rhythms, restore tests) and GDPR/NIS2 evidence.
Leadership & Enablement (hands on, measured)
  • Set near term priorities; coach IT Ops/Sys Ops; steer partners to outcomes.
  • Raise the bar on documentation, runbooks, service quality, incident/post mortems.
  • Partner with the Director of IT on data driven sequencing (stabilise standardise scale).
Preferred Background

Must have

  • Senior experience spanning migrations (local to cloud & tenant alignment), IT Ops, and Sys Ops in hybrid/multi site environments.
  • Proven lift on SLA/MTTR/CSAT, endpoint compliance, and clean cutovers; strong change/risk control and documentation habits.
  • Practical leadership of small internal teams and external partners (prioritisation, coaching, clear acceptance criteria).
  • Solid grasp of permission models, retention/classification, access reviews, backup/restore evidence, and privacy obligations.
  • Ability to distil complexity into decision ready options and to drive adoption with non IT stakeholders.
  • German fluent; English professional.
Nice to have
  • Document management governance (permissions, retention, audit trails) and self service enablement.
  • Light automation/scripting for provisioning/reporting; capacity/cost visibility and simple ROI framing.
  • Participation in restore/DR exercises; familiarity with branch/field operations and vendor consolidation.
