Corporate Global Trade Compliance Officer
As our Corporate Global Trade Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing our trade compliance activities, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and efficient operational organisation. Your responsibilities will encompass strategic planning and governance, risk management, and the development and implementation of robust compliance programs.
YOUR MISSION WILL BE TO:
1. Strategy & Governance:
- Develop and implement comprehensive customs & trade compliance strategies that align with the
company's overall business objectives.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks to ensure compliance with international customs
- & trade regulations, export controls, and sanctions.
- Collaborate with senior management to integrate customs & trade compliance considerations into
- business planning and decision-making processes.
- Shape the company's global customs operational management strategy.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the company's operations, making
- necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
- Manage projects related to trade compliance and seek support from external advisors as needed.
2. Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to trade compliance through robust risk management
practices.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on customs & trade compliance
- requirements and best practices.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of compliance controls and identify areas for improvement.
- Support local teams and conduct regular assessments to ensure the efficient execution of
customs operational activities.
3. Compliance Programs Management:
- Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to all applicable customs & trade compliance regulations.
- Establish global guidelines for managing the due diligence screening process to ensure
adherence to export control and sanctions requirements.
- Shape and implement global duties and cost-related mitigation strategies and programs that align with the company's overall business objectives.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with customs regulations and import/export requirements.
- Manage compliance-related investigations, audits, and inquiries, ensuring timely and effective
resolution of issues.
ARE YOU READY FOR THE ROLE?
Main requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, International Trade, Law, or a related field. Advanced degree
preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in customs & trade compliance, with a strong
understanding of trade compliance regulations and customs requirements.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful compliance strategies and
programs.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with
cross-functional teams.
