Head of HR Business Partnering - VP Level

A global financial services organisation is seeking a proactive Head of HR Business Partnering to lead a high-performing HRBP team of 4 in delivering strategic and operational HR support across its EMEA business. This is a pivotal role, providing trusted counsel to senior leadership, driving people initiatives and team managment.

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will oversee a small team of HRBPs, ensuring consistent delivery of best-in-class HR across workforce planning, employee relations, orgchange, talent management, and engagement.

This position requires a true "player-coach" - someone equally comfortable operating strategically with executives and rolling up their sleeves to manage complex people issues and day to day activities across your client group with oversite of the rest of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop the HRBP team to deliver exceptional generalist HR support across all areas of the employee lifecycle.
  • Partner with senior leaders to align people strategies with business goals, driving workforce planning, organisational change, and talent development.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations, partnering closely with legal teams to deliver sound and practical outcomes.
  • Oversee performance and reward processes, ensuring consistency and alignment with business priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR service delivery, leveraging data and insights to inform decision-making.
  • Support the development of leadership capability across the organisation through coaching and partnership.
Skills
  • Proven HR generalist or business partnering experience gained in a financial or professional services environment ideally mid-size.
  • Track record of leading and developing a team, desirably business partners/generalists/HR4HR.
  • Strong experience in employee relations, organisational change, talent, and reward.
  • Adept at balancing strategic priorities with hands-on delivery - a confident "player/coach."
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and best practice.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the credibility to engage senior executives and influence decisions.
  • Experience supporting teams across London and international regions (Asia exposure desirable).
  • Resilient, adaptable, and collaborative with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
