Job Description

Head of People & Culture - Part Time

Location: Covent Garden, London WC2

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 plus private healthcare, pension, benefits

Working pattern: Part time. 10am - 2pm 4-5 days per week

ABOUT US:

Adair is a successful and growing property and construction consultancy with more than 40 people across offices in London, Surrey, the Midlands, Leeds and Gibraltar, with further international growth planned.

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of People & Culture to lead the people function and support the next stage of Adair's growth.

Working closely with senior management, you will help deliver the company's people strategy, workforce plan and culture, while remaining hands-on across the full range of HR.

THE ROLE:

You will take responsibility for:

  • Delivering Adair's people strategy and workforce plan
  • Overseeing the HR function across the business
  • Advising managers on employee relations, performance management and UK employment law
  • Leading recruitment activity and helping attract high-quality talent through Adair's brand, social media and recruitment partners
  • Supporting employee development, training and career progression
  • Delivering people-related change and organisational development
  • Developing HR policies, procedures and employee engagement initiatives
  • Managing HR systems, people data, benefits and the HR budget
  • Providing practical, trusted advice to senior managers and employees across the business

ABOUT YOU:

You will be a strong HR generalist with experience operating in a growing or changing organisation.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Broad generalist HR experience
  • Strong employee relations and performance management experience
  • Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Experience supporting organisational growth or change
  • Strong recruitment and talent attraction experience
  • A commercial, practical and hands-on approach
  • The confidence to work closely with and influence senior management.

CIPD qualifications would be advantageous, although significant relevant HR experience will also be considered.

Experience within property, construction, consultancy or another professional-services environment would be useful but is not essential.

This could suit an experienced Head of People, or a strong HR Manager or People & Culture Manager looking to take the next step, who's comfortable working independently in a small but growing business. You'll be joining Adair at an exciting time of change and expansion, with real scope to shape the people function as they open new offices.

Flexible working

Adair is offering the role with flexible working arrangements including a pattern that can accommodate school-run commitments.

Office hours of 10am to 2pm, Monday to Friday, is preferred but flexible, together with flexibility to attend occasional evening events and company functions.

This role will involve regularly visiting other offices during working hours.

A competitive salary and benefits package is offered.
