Location: Quinton House School, Upton
Job Title: Head of History & Politics
Contract: Full Time, Permanent. Term Time Only
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to £43,635 per annum with a management responsibility allowance
Start Date: September 2026
About the RoleAs Head of History & Politics, you will:
- Lead the strategic direction, development and daily operations of the History & Politics department.
- Teach History at GCSE and A Level and Politics at A Level to highly motivated students.
- Design and deliver engaging, intellectually ambitious lessons that inspire independent thinking and informed debate.
- Champion modern, research informed pedagogy and digital learning approaches.
- Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, tracking and departmental quality assurance.
- Support, mentor and develop colleagues across the department, fostering collaboration and reflective practice.
- Enrich the wider school experience through trips, clubs, academic events and co curricular opportunities such as debating, historical societies or political forums.
- Contribute fully to the pastoral life of the school and embody our values of curiosity, respect and ambition.
