Overview

Head of Financial Reporting - Manchester (hybrid)

Salary: £85,000 - £95,000 per annum + bonus

Robert Walters are excited to be recruiting a Head of Financial Reporting on behalf of an international retail business. This pivotal role sits at the heart of Group finance, overseeing financial reporting, group consolidations, maintaining a strong control environment, and building effective working relationships with external audit partners. You will coach and develop a high-performing team within a supportive and forward-thinking environment. This role oversees a £1billion+ Group with growth plans including international expansion and acquisitions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of timely, accurate, and robust Group financial reporting.
  • Oversee statutory accounts production across multiple entities (including international).
  • Coordinate external audits and build relationships with external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and provide expert technical accounting guidance across the Group.
  • Drive improvements in accounting policies and strengthen financial controls.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a talented finance team.
  • Consolidation of multiple entities and integration into the Group reporting function.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
About You
  • A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Proven experience in a senior audit role within a leading accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience with group consolidations, ideally in an international business.
  • A background in statutory accounts production.
  • Proven people management experience and strong stakeholder communication skills.
  • A proactive, improvement-driven mindset with a focus on delivering excellence.
  • Ability to balance BAU and regular project work.
