Head of Finance

Head of Finance - Chelmsford, Essex (Hybrid) - £Six figure package

My client, a growing housebuilder in Chelmsford is hiring a hands on Head of Finance to bring pace, grip and commercial edge to the finance function.

This is a role for someone who likes to get stuck in, tighten the engine room, and partner the business as it scales - with real visibility at board level.

• Run a slick month end: management accounts, reporting, board packs
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cashflow with confidence
• Upgrade controls, processes and reporting rhythm (less firefighting, more forward looking)
• Be the finance partner to construction + commercial - challenge, influence, drive performance
• Own audit, statutory accounts, VAT/CIS and compliance
• Coach and grow the team as the business expands

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or equivalent
• Strong on the technicals, naturally commercial
• Experienced in housebuilding / construction / property / project led environments (ideal)
• A confident stakeholder manager - firm, fair, and constructive
• Someone who improves how things work: systems, controls, cadence
