Monocle is looking for a head of events for a fixed-term maternity-leave role. This position has it all: global travel, high-end events and exceptional experiences.

About the role

Monocle produces unique, high end events across a range of formats, from cocktail receptions and seasonal markets to multiday conferences with internationally recognised presenters and delegates.

Whether we're delivering a flagship Monocle event or working in partnership with a client, each occasion is an embodiment of our brand and audience experience. It's always thoughtfully crafted and expertly executed.

With one direct report, the head of events has accountability for the planning and delivery of our busy events calendar. We're looking for an experienced events manager who can collaborate professionally with both internal and external stakeholders and take in the big picture alongside the details that elevate any experience. You will be someone who thrives while managing multiple projects across several timezones.

You will also demonstrate
  • Excellent budget management, contract negotiation and supplier management skills
  • People leadership, management and influence
  • An existing network of industry contacts and know how
  • A proven track record of delivering events of a similar scale and quality from end to end
  • The ability to travel and deliver events on the ground
  • The capacity to respond well to pressure and maintain a professional and sunny approach
  • A commitment to ensuring that our events and experiences live up to the Monocle brand and reputation

The role is a fixed term contract for up to one year. We are looking for someone who is available to start in May. The role involves international events; the successful candidate must have the right to travel.

This role is based in our Marylebone office 5 days a week and we offer the following benefits:
