For our Munich office, we are looking for a tech-savvy leader to develop our technology strategy, drive innovation and build & scale our engineering team.

Tasks

Your role

As Head of Engineering, you are largely responsible for our technological roadmap. You will lead the development of our proprietary energy management platform, ensure scalability & security and drive innovation in a fast-growing market. With above-average performance and corresponding company development, development to CTO is possible in the medium term

Your tasks:

• Technology strategy & leadership - development & implementation of our tech roadmap in close coordination with the business goals.
• Product development & Innovation - further development of the encosa Energy Cloud & integration of new technologies (e.g. AI-driven analytics, IoT, battery storage optimization).
• Process optimization & technical excellence - analysis and continuous development of our technical workflows, systems and tools.
• Team building & leadership - building, leading & scaling a high-performance engineering team with a culture of innovation & excellence.
• Scalability & Security - Ensuring a robust, secure & scalable architecture that supports our growth - especially with regard to digitized processes and a high number of projects.
• Partnerships & collaborations - working with external technology partners, hardware vendors & internal teams (e.g. Business Development, Operations).
• Technical risk management - identifying & minimizing potential technical challenges to ensure sustainable growth.

Qualification

Your profile

You're a perfect fit for us if you:

• Have at least 10 years of experience in a technical environment - including at least 5 years in a managerial position as Team Lead, Head of Engineering or CTO, ideally in a start-up or scale-up context.
• Technical excellence - deep understanding of software development, cloud technologies, AI & IoT. Experience in the energy sector or with battery storage is a plus.
• Visionary & strategic thinker - you develop long-term technical solutions that align with business goals.
• Have a leadership mentality - you can inspire, encourage & challenge a team to get the best out of them.
• Are problem-solving oriented - you master complex technical challenges & make data-driven decisions.
• Fluent in English - knowledge of German is an advantage, but not a must.
• Have excellent communication skills - you can communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders in an understandable way
• Thrive in a dynamic environment - you have experience in a startup/scale-up environment and can deal with changing priorities.
