Head of Geography Department Required for School in North Bradford

About the role:

At Engage Education, we are currently looking for an ambitious Head of Department with a Geography specialism for a fantastic Ofsted rated Good secondary school in the upper parts of Bradford. This is a role to start from September 2026, or sooner for the right candidate.

The school has curated an enthusiastic team and focuses on the development of both teachers and pupils. With a strong leadership team in place, the school is committed to continuous improvement and provides a supportive environment for middle leaders to thrive. If you have a proven track record of raising attainment within schools and have a passion for Geography, we'd love to hear from you.

As Head of Department, you will lead the Geography curriculum across the school, driving standards of teaching and learning while supporting colleagues within the department to deliver engaging and challenging lessons.

The ideal candidate has:

• Full QTS
• Experience in planning and delivering lessons to a high standard
• Confidence in teaching all abilities
• Great behaviour management skills
• The ability to think fast and adapt lessons accordingly
• Previous Head of Department, Curriculum Lead, or leadership experience
• A specialism in Geography with experience teaching at KS3, KS4, and ideally KS5

The Role:

• Head of Geography Department + TLR
• Leading and developing the Geography department
• Inspiring and motivating the younger generation
• Monitoring pupil progress and raising attainment
• Supporting staff development within the department
