Ryanair - Europe's Favourite Airline are currently recruiting for the Head of Contract Line Maintenance.
The Head of Contracted Line Maintenance will report to the Deputy Director of Maintenance and be responsible for the governance, safety, compliance, performance, and commercial oversight of all contracted and subcontracted Line Maintenance providers, including associated contracts and side letters. The role ensures 3rd Party maintenance is delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable requirements.
The role also provides leadership and governance oversight of the Maintenance Control Operations Room, ensuring effective real time management of technical operations, aircraft defects, AOG events, maintenance related disruptions, and coordination between Maintenance Control, contracted MROs and any other related departments.
Duties Include- Own the evaluation, approval, onboarding, and ongoing governance of contracted and subcontracted Part-145 maintenance organisations, ensuring they have the required approvals, facilities, personnel, tooling, equipment, technical data, and capabilities for the contracted scope.
- Provide leadership and governance oversight of the Maintenance Control Operations Room, ensuring safe, compliant, and effective real-time technical support and coordination between contracted MROs, Engineering, CAMO, Operations Control, Flight Operations, Materials, Safety, and Compliance.
- Develop, negotiate, and control Line Maintenance contracts, service level agreements, and side letters, clearly defining responsibilities, performance standards, safety reporting, record keeping, escalation arrangements, subcontracting controls, and audit rights.
- Complete annual contractual and regulatory reviews in accordance with Part-145, Part-CAMO, MOE/CAME procedures, and applicable authority requirements, ensuring contract changes, renewals, scope extensions, and terminations are properly assessed, approved, and documented.
- Chair regular supplier review meetings, monitoring contractual, operational, safety, and compliance performance and ensuring actions, findings, risks, and commercial issues are assigned, escalated where required, and closed within agreed timescales.
- Work closely with Safety and Compliance Monitoring teams during supplier audits, regulatory inspections, occurrence investigations, and root-cause analysis, ensuring findings and safety actions are tracked to effective closure and lessons learned are shared across the network.
- Act as the principal interface between contracted MROs and internal stakeholders, providing senior management with clear reporting on supplier performance, operational delivery, safety, compliance, risk, contractual status, and significant technical events.
- Lead and develop the Contracted Maintenance and Maintenance Control teams, driving accountability, standardisation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement while ensuring safety, airworthiness, and compliance are never compromised by commercial or operational pressures.
- Degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering or B-1/B-2/CAT A license.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a CAMO or P-145 maintenance role.
- Good technical knowledge of the B737NG, A320 and B aircraft.
- Understanding of EASA Part-M, Part CAMO and part 145 regulation.
- Flexible approach with project delivery being a high priority.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of AMOS would be preferable.
- Computer literate, with working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a collaborative team.
- Strong attention to detail in multi-tasking situations and the ability to deliver results to tight timelines.
