The Head of Childcare Solicitor position, based in Warwickshire, offers a salary between £90,000 and £110,000 per annum on a full-time, hybrid-remote basis. Our client is looking to appoint a Senior Childcare Solicitor / Children Panel Accredited Lawyer to establish a brand-new Childcare Department and Coventry office. This is not simply a role within an existing team. You will have the opportunity to build the department from the ground up, helping shape the strategy, develop the client base, recruit your team and establish the firm's presence in Coventry.

The Opportunity

You will take a lead role in developing the firm's childcare offering, initially handling your own high-quality caseload while playing a key part in establishing the new office. The role will give you considerable autonomy and the opportunity to make your mark, with support from the wider firm and the resources required to develop a successful practice.

  • Establishing and developing a new Childcare Department in Coventry
  • Building and managing your own caseload of complex childcare matters
  • Acting for parents, children and/or other parties in care proceedings
  • Developing relationships with existing and prospective referrers
  • Building a strong local profile and reputation within the childcare market
  • Developing and implementing a strategy for the growth of the department
  • Identifying opportunities to recruit and develop additional members of the team
  • Working closely with the firm's senior management to establish the Coventry office
  • Contributing to the wider strategic direction of the firm's family offering
About You

You will ideally have:

  • Significant experience in childcare law
  • Children Panel accreditation
  • A strong technical knowledge of care proceedings
  • Experience handling your own caseload of complex matters
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • A strong network of professional contacts and referrers
  • A genuine desire to develop business and build a new practice
