ProfileWhat will you be doing?
- Own the performance of a portfolio of projects and deliver the Business Plan for the profit centre.
- Partner with Project Managers to ensure safe, on-time, on-budget, and high-quality project delivery.
- Collaborate with functional teams to secure the right people, tools, and capabilities - now and for future demand.
- Champion Quality and HSE standards, promoting a 'Right First Time' and 'Zero Harm' culture.
- Drive project performance through regular reviews, using data and dashboards to resolve risks and improve outcomes.
- Build strong customer relationships, engaging directly to support successful delivery where needed.
- Work with Sales to shape opportunities and win new business aligned with the Business Plan.
- Align with Finance to track performance and provide clear, data-driven insights.
- Report on revenue, margin, and cost performance, taking action to address any gaps.
- Oversee resource planning and order book alignment to ensure optimal delivery capacity.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to steer overall business performance, risks, and growth plans.
- Lead continuous improvement and support the long-term development and sustainability of the Business Line.
What are we looking for?
Required Attributes:
- HND or Degree in relevant Engineering or Manufacturing discipline
- IOSH / NEBOSH safety certificate (highly desirable)
- Knowledge of relevant ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 19443) and working knowledge of IMS systems
- Technical knowledge of the area of the business (engineering, manufacturing, site management) (5+ years' experience) and experience of planning resources, workload management.
- Good knowledge of performance management techniques (LEAN, Six Sigma)
- Experience in highly regulated industries. Experience of Nuclear industry is highly desirable.
- Have very good understanding of finance, budget, and cost management
- A comprehensive understanding of the health, safety and environmental requirements of managing project (incl. CDM regulation)
- Experience and understanding of commercial and contract management (incl. NEC, FIDIC, adhoc, etc.)
Desired Attributes:
- Project management Certification
- CSCS Managers and Professionals Test
- Member of an appropriate professional body or working towards (CIOB, APM, PMI etc.)
- Extensive experience of managing engineering, manufacturing, supply of equipment and site work, maintenance work projects (NEC, FIDIC etc) of £10M+
- Ability to oversee tenders and to evaluate price estimates.
- General understanding of main codes and standards used in the nuclear industry and their respective areas (eg. ASME, RCC, ISO 3834, ISO 1090, etc.)
