Job Description

Flexsource are currently recruiting for a Head Mechanic for our client based in South Dublin. The ideal candidate will own technical standards, diagnosis, quality control, workshop discipline and team growth across the garage, while remaining credible and capable on the tools where needed.

Responsibilities
  • Lead diagnosis and complex repairs across service, brakes, suspension, steering, fault finding and difficult incident jobs.
  • Allocate technical work inside the workshop and support correct job routing across workshop, mobile, tyre and recovery activity.
  • Own right first time safe work, technical sign off, QC and re check discipline on more complex jobs.
  • Coach technicians, tyre staff and the mobile team so capability rises across the whole operation.
  • Build stronger inspection, proof and handback habits with the Service Advisor so customers and contract stakeholders get clearer visibility.
  • Set the standard for housekeeping, tool control, stock care, workshop discipline and pride in workmanship.
  • Advise leadership on tooling, training, hiring gaps, layout and second site readiness.
Requirements
  • Strong senior diagnostic and mechanical capability across mixed workshop work.
  • Credible experience leading or mentoring technicians while still being technically hands on.
  • Comfortable balancing hands on repair, job allocation, coaching and quality control.
  • Calm under pressure; does not create drama when the day becomes difficult.
  • Values systems, standards and clean communication.
  • Commercially sensible: understands that speed matters, but only when safety and quality hold.
  • Useful if you have exposure to commercial, fleet or higher pressure workshop environments.
Hours of Work
  • Full time - Permanent position
  • 43 Hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • Short days on Saturdays
Salary

Upto €80,000 per annum
