We're looking for a compassionate and experienced Hairdresser to join our care home team covering a period of maternity leave, where you'll provide high quality hairdressing and nail care services to our wonderful residents.

Hours: 35 hours per week
Pay: £14.49 per hour
Contract: Full time/Maternity Cover (starting 10 June 2026)

What You'll Be DoingYou'll create a relaxing, respectful experience for residents while offering:
Hairdressing services- Washing, cutting, styling, and setting.
- Gentle treatments suitable for elderly hair and sensitive scalps.
- Nail trimming, shaping, filing, and buffing.
- Applying nail polish where appropriate.
You'll also:
- Work sensitively with residents who may have mobility issues, dementia, or other care needs.
- Maintain excellent hygiene and infection control standards.
- Keep your work areas clean, tidy, and well organised.
- Help create a warm, friendly atmosphere where residents feel valued and pampered.
- Qualified or experienced hairdresser (NVQ or equivalent preferred).
- Essential experience with nail care.
- Experience working with older people or in a care setting (desirable, but not essential).
- A patient, kind, and professional manner.
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene practices.
- Enjoy a calmer pace than a high street salon.
- Build meaningful relationships with residents.
- Be part of a supportive, caring team.
- Use your skills in a role that genuinely makes a difference.
