Lecturer - Hairdressing and Barbering

  • Salary: £33,429 to £46,618 per annum including London Weighting
  • Job Type: Full-time

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver comprehensive lectures and practical sessions across various courses including Level 1 Hair and Beauty, VRQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Hairdressing, and more.
  • Engage and inspire students through hands-on demonstrations and innovative teaching practices.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support students in achieving their learning goals.
  • Develop and update course materials to ensure they meet industry standards and enhance the learning experience.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance the curriculum and participate in departmental activities.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in hairdressing and barbering.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Hairdressing, along with an assessor qualification.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in the hairdressing industry.
  • Proven teaching experience in hairdressing.
  • Willingness to work towards a Level 5 teacher training qualification if not already obtained (support provided by the College).
  • Additional qualifications in Expert colourist/colour correction or Creative hair up are desirable but not essential.
