The post holder will ensure the highest standard of care is delivered to research subjects and, where relevant their families, in partnership with all members of the multi disciplinary and research teams
The post holder displays excellent communication and leadership skills, and is responsible for the day-to-day line management of their team. He / she is also responsible for standards of cleanliness in the clinical research area and for a well maintained research environment
The post holder will track and manage study finances in order to ensure the effective operation and completion of the study(ies) within budget. He/she is an authorised signatory for financial and physical resources
To actively participate in the development of R&D strategies, policies and plans to build capacity for research within and across the Trust, in line with Department of Health strategy
Main duties of the jobManage people and financial resources to ensure the effective operation of the team for which he/ she is responsible.2. Allocate work and assess performance of the team members objectively against set criteria/ competencies. Be responsible for ensuring that individual performance review and personal development plans are completed for each staff member. Provide clear feedback to team members in a way that is conducive to maintaining and improving performance. Work closely with the Human Resources Department as appropriate.3. Demonstrate excellent personal communication. Establish and maintain effective two-way communication channels with individuals and groups. Demonstrate appropriate assertiveness and ability to challenge others when the rights of patients and others may be infringed4. Be responsible for the standard of care delivered for research purposes. Demonstrate that patients and their carers / relatives where relevant are involved in both decisions affecting their care and wellbeing, and in service development.

Person Specification Education and trianing- Registered Nurse/Haem professional
- Evidence of recent clinical practice in specialist area/ evidence of recent appropriate clinical experience.
- Leadership course/quliafication
- Must have recent clinical experience at band 6/7
- 5years post qualification of which 2years must be in a speciality-research/clinical
- Excellent interpersonal skills with particular ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary team members
