£13.26 per hour

Northumberland County Council's Staff Bank provides a pool of highly skilled temporary workers who are looking for a long-term placement, or who want to work flexibly within the council. If a team needs support due to sickness, common staff shortages, or general vacancies, they call upon registered bank members to fill available assignments. These can be filled via a long-term assignment for up to 12 months or on an ad hoc basis.

About The Role

Druridge Bay Fitness Centre and Rothbury Fitness Centre are important community facilities, providing a safe, inclusive and welcoming space for people of all ages and abilities to be physically active, improve their health and enhance their wellbeing. As key hubs within the local community, the centres play a vital role in supporting healthier lifestyles and reducing health inequalities.

To support the day-to-day running of each facility, we are recruiting for Gym Instructors on a Bank contract to provide operational cover asrequired. This is a varied, customer-facing role where you willbe responsible for delivering a high-quality fitness service, ensuring customers can exercise safely and confidently within the gym environment.

As a Gym Instructor, you will carry out gym inductions, provide expert fitness advice and guidance, and support to members.

The role also involvesmaintaininga safe and clean environment, ensuring all equipment is used correctly and is wellmaintained, and adhering to all health and safety procedures. Working closely with the wider team, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the centre, support the delivery of fitness activities, and help promote the full range of services available.
