Job Description
Job Overview

This role is for a Guidewire Policy Center Sr Developer with a contract length of "unknown," offering a pay rate of "unknown." Candidates must have 10+ years of Guidewire PolicyCenter experience, strong integration expertise, and a solid understanding of the insurance domain. Location: London Area, United Kingdom - On-site.

Responsibilities
  • Core Guidewire Knowledge (PolicyCenter): strong understanding of PolicyCenter data model and business processes, hands on experience with Gosu programming, deep knowledge of APD, Product Model, Job Lifecycle, Policy Transactions (new business, renewal, endorsement, cancellation) and PMT tool, and expertise in configuring PolicyCenter (typelists, entities, PCFs, workflows, rules engine).
  • Guidewire Integration Expertise: experience with Guidewire integration mechanisms (Messaging, Web Services, Plugins, Batch Processes), working knowledge of GX Model & Edge APIs, hands on experience integrating with external systems using REST, understanding of event driven processing (messaging triggers).
  • Database Knowledge: experience working with Guidewire Data Model and database schema, support the creation of a data feed from Guidewire PolicyCenter V10/V9 and Cloud.
  • Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting: ability to profile and debug PolicyCenter performance issues, understanding of caching strategies, efficient querying, and memory management.
  • Guidewire Best Practices: knowledge of Guidewire coding standards & best practices, SonarQube, Jacoca.
  • Business Knowledge & Communication: understanding of insurance domain concepts, ability to understand requirements, collaborate with business analysts, and provide technical solutions; ability to work with PO, BA and other squad team to clarify requirements and resolve dependencies.
  • Testing: understanding of testing automation such as GUnits.
  • Release Management: understanding of code build deploy, environments (time travel, NFT), support release deployment and sequence of events involved from Guidewire perspective.
  • Thought Leadership: participate in solution discussion with Cognizant Guidewire CoE, contribute towards continuous improvements and Guidewire new features, experience with implementation, upgrade, migration projects, worked on Guidewire Cloud platform.
  • Development Lead: review design documents, sign off on designs, review user story estimations, drive technical solution sessions for sprint user stories from configuration and integration perspective, analyze technical dependencies, provide inputs to PO, guide developers, peer review code, participate in defect triage meetings, work with technical leaders to set technical guidelines and processes.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of recent experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter.
  • Core Guidewire Knowledge (PolicyCenter): strong knowledge of PolicyCenter data model, business processes, Gosu programming, APD, Product Model, Job Lifecycle, Policy Transactions, PMT tool, and configuration.
  • Guidewire Integration: messaging, web services, plugins, batch processes, GX Model & Edge APIs, REST integration, event driven processing.
  • Database schema experience and data feed support.
  • Performance optimization, memory management expertise.
  • Coding standards, SonarQube, Jacoca proficiency.
  • Insurance domain knowledge, strong communication, collaboration with business analysts.
  • Testing automation experience (GUnits).
  • Release management and deployment processes.
