Salary: Contact hours are paid at a multiplier of 2.5 basic hours for group teaching to include preparation time spent in the classroom delivering teaching, class preparation; course administration;('the multiplier')totalling £56.96/ £67.49 (basic hourly rate starts from £23.46 per hour, inclusive of London Allowance). Marking is paid at the basic hourly rate using plain time hours (from £23.46) and is part of the teaching contract.

About the Role

The Department of Politics and International Studies has vacancies for fixed term Graduate Teaching Assistants and Teaching Fellows to cover tutorial teaching for the modules listed below. Candidates will be expected to have specialist knowledge in the discipline(s) related to the contracted module, the ability to design and develop lessons for, and deliver engaging teaching to, undergraduate or postgraduate students from a diverse background. Candidates should also have strong time management skills, with the ability to plan work independently and meet varied deadlines.

• Introduction to Research Methods

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK or have limited leave to remain in the UK and associated right to work for the duration of their employment with SOAS, in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.
