Job Description

A leading global organisation is looking for a Group Technical Accounting Manager to provide expert technical guidance and ensure best-in-class financial reporting across its international operations.

This is a high-impact role where you'll shape group accounting policies, lead acquisition accounting and purchase price allocation, and support complex cross-border transactions that drive the business forward

Responsibilities for the role:

  • Lead group-wide technical accounting projects, including acquisition accounting, PPA, impairment assessments, provisions, leases and financial instruments
  • Maintain and update group accounting policies, ensuring full IFRS alignment and delivering training to regional teams
  • Track and communicate new IFRS standards quarterly
  • Provide ad-hoc technical support, preparing technical papers and documenting key judgements
  • Support continuous improvement of accounting quality across global reporting teams
  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors on technical matters
  • Partner with FP&A, commercial finance, and systems teams to embed technical requirements
  • Support audit processes, including technical disclosures within consolidated financial statements
  • Build strong relationships with tax, treasury, legal and regional finance teams
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to a positive wellbeing culture

Requirements for the role:

  • ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) with at least five years' post-qualification experience out of audit
  • Strong technical accounting background, including acquisition accounting and impairment testing
  • Experience working in large, complex, or multinational environments
  • Exposure to multicurrency consolidations (advantageous)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • High attention to detail and strong proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Confident presentation skills for delivering training and technical updates
  • Ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external advisors
