We're looking for an enthusiastic GroupSenior Risk Executive - Third-Party and Supplier Riskto join a team responsible for oversight across the Admiral Group. You will be part of a small team working to support the enterprise risk management strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to help build and develop the mechanisms that will ensure that the Group continues to effectively manage exposure to third-party risks impacting the numerous businesses that make up Admiral Group.

The Group ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) Team is an established team within Admiral's Group Risk Management Function, responsible for offering guidance and support to risk owners in the business, whilst providing independent oversight and assurance of the most material non-financial risks faced by the Group and its businesses. The Team is critical in delivering on the risk and compliance function's purpose of "Helping the Group sustainably deliver our strategy. Working together to support all our stakeholders' futures." The Team works closely with other Group Risk Management teams to ensure a complete and joined-up approach, as well as with entity line 2 teams, providing support where needed and expertise where required.

Reporting to the Group Resilience Risk Lead, you will be key to providing assurance on our third party and supplier risk mechanisms and strategy, resilience transformation programmes to meet regulatory requirements and operational readiness programmes for major change initiatives.

Main Duties

  • As Group Senior Risk Executive - Third-Party and Supplier Risk,you will support the Resilience Risk Lead in overseeing third-party and supplier risk for the Group as a whole.
  • Assist in facilitating business-led risk workstreams and support consistency in approach and aggregated reporting.
  • You will also support the Group incident and crisis management workstreams, embedding the Group-level response strategy and helping to ensure robust mechanisms are in place to respond to, and recover from, potential third-party and/or supplier disruptions.
  • Provide assurance on business level and Group third-party and supplier risk framework designs, crisis management exercises, and resilience testing.
  • Work with the businesses to help them understand good practices in third-party and supplier risk management, including consistent mechanisms to manage an incident through its lifecycle.
  • Keep abreast of emerging third-party and supplier risk requirements and provide an analysis of potential impacts to the Group.
  • Support the Manager in conducting periodic thematic risk reviews.
  • Collate documentation/responses to information requests from stakeholders, providing the information to the Manager for review prior to being released.
  • Provide regular updates to the Group ERM Team on ongoing initiatives.
  • Remain aware of leading and developing practices on risk management.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships across the Group, as relevant to the role.
  • Support the delivery of education and awareness sessions (e.g., workshops, training) to line 1 teams, Team Managers, Ops Managers, and Heads of Department regarding the management of risk within their areas.
  • Represent line 2 Risk in relevant committees, working groups and meetings.
  • Where requested by the Senior Manager or Group Head of ERM, undertake or support ad hoc work that will help the Group deliver its strategy.
  • Undertake continual professional development to ensure that knowledge of industry and regulatory best practice remains current.

This is not a full definition of the role but covers the main responsibilities, which may be subject to review and change as the Group ERM Team develops and matures.

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in third-party and supplier risk management, preferably in a second line non-financial risk team, with familiarity with risk management methodologies, frameworks, and techniques.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the Group's business lines, regulatory landscape, and macroeconomic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships and tailor messages to a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reasoning abilities, enabling effective decision-making and practical solutions to complex issues.
  • Robust time management and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and inquisitive approach with integrity, honesty, and enthusiasm.
  • Developing people management and influencing skills, able to provide oversight, feedback, and challenge.
  • Commitment to continual professional development and keeping knowledge current with industry and regulatory best practice.
  • Relevant risk management qualifications would be beneficial but aren't essential.
