Group Financial Reporting Manager
Location: Edinburgh(Hybrid)

W&A is supporting a leading financial service group to appoint a Group Financial Reporting Manager into a high-impact leadership role.

Are you a qualified accountant with a strong background in external reporting and team leadership? This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior role where you'll lead a team, shape reporting standards, and play a key role in delivering high-quality financial statements and information to internal and external stakeholders.

The Opportunity

This is a pivotal role within the group's wider finance function, responsible for delivering statutory reporting, supporting Board-level insights, and driving forward best-in-class reporting practices. Managing a team of six, you'll collaborate across accounting, actuarial, and data teams to ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality outputs.

You'll also have the chance to contribute to shaping methodology and policy, managing external audits, and delivering high-impact communications to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of the Annual Report and Accounts, and Interim Report
  • Support reporting to the Board and Executive Committee
  • Contribute to finance papers for the Group Audit Committee
  • Deliver regulatory outputs, including Solvency II-related reporting
  • Implement changes to accounting policies and ensure compliance with evolving standards
  • Manage the external audit process
  • Foster strong internal stakeholder relationships across the finance function
  • Lead, coach, and develop the financial reporting team

About You

  • Qualified accountant with post-qualification experience
  • Strong technical grounding in financial reporting, ideally from within financial services
  • Familiarity with listed company requirements is advantageous
  • Experienced in managing teams and motivating others to perform
  • Adept at handling complex accounting issues and delivering commercial insights
  • Highly organised, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving environment
