Job Description

Robert Half are working in partnership with a private equity backed business based near to Cheltenham to recruit a Group Financial Controller on a permanent basis. This role will report to the CFO and take ownership of the day-to-day finance function whilst focusing on technical accounting and financial control areas.

This is a great opportunity to work in a fast paced and progressive business that is looking to process improve and drive the finance function forward whilst managing a high volume and demanding cash flow environment.

The Group Financial Controller position will be paying in the region of £85,000 to £95,000 per annum, 10% bonus with hybrid working (1-2 days from home) and a great prospect for future development.

Key responsibilities include

  • Oversight of month end close process (P&L, Balance Sheet, cash flow)
  • Lead the year end close process ensuring robust controls and timely reporting alongside being key liaison with the auditors
  • Own and drive continuous improvement within the finance function, including opportunities for automation and AI, ERP optimisation and enhancements
  • Ensure robust balance sheet control, reconciliations and review process
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and maintenance of rolling forecasts
  • Cash flow forecasting and the monitoring of liquidity
  • Ensure effective management of debtors and creditors

About your experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), this role would suit a candidate trained through practice but all prior experience considered
  • Experience within a Private Equity backed business
  • Prior leadership experience across a business as usual function, strong direct management and ability to coach/develop
  • Previous experience within a tight cash flow control environment
