Grounds Maintenance Supervisor

This is a hands-on role supervising the daily activities of an outdoor grounds maintenance team of eight.

Responsibilities:

1. Allocating tasks to team members daily
2. Monitoring quality standards and performance targets
3. Ensuring team efficiency and implementing service improvements
4. Maintaining property and equipment cleanliness
5. Ensuring adherence to safe work systems and proper use of machinery
6. Completing and updating contract documentation
7. Performing grass and hedge cutting in public open spaces
8. Maintaining flower displays and bedding (watering and weeding)
9. Supervising greenhouse operations, potting plants, and preparing hanging baskets
10. Overseeing installation of hanging baskets, planters, and displays
11. Driving vehicles and equipment as needed for grounds maintenance
12. Assisting with funerals, including grave marking and interment presence
13. Recommending improvements in work systems, labor, and machinery use
14. Assisting with clearing and gritting footpaths during extreme weather
15. Ensuring compliance with health and safety policies
