Our Offshore Infrastructure department comprises of approximately 170 professionals dedicated to delivering assurance services across a wide range of offshore sectors. We are organised into two sections: the Asset Assurance section, which focuses on providing verification services for in service operations, and the Project Assurance section (where this opportunity sits), which provides the technical advisory and verification services from the early design through to offshore commissioning.
We play a vital role in shaping the future of the Energy industry, working with a wide range of clients-from asset owners and operators to EPC contractors and design houses, to yards, manufacturers and emerging energy transition companies.

What we do:- Verify complex greenfield and brownfield developments through design reviews, field inspections, and commissioning
- Assess and qualify emerging technologies that enable the energy transition
- Provide expert advisory support to clients on both traditional and renewable energy projects.
As a Graduate Engineer, you'll join our growing team of experts who love finding innovative solutions to our industry's most challenging problems. You'll be given real responsibility from day one, working alongside technical experts and forward thinking clients on projects that make a difference, helping deliver career and industry defining projects.

Your work will include the design and/or verification of:
- Relief and depressurisation systems
- Functional safety systems
- Process safety time calculations
- Process and instrumentation diagrams
- Fire and explosion protection systems
- Escape and evacuation facilities
- Risk assessments and studies, for onshore and/or offshore energy facilities.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team-covering technical safety, structural, process, electrical, mechanical, and geotechnical engineering-you'll build and apply your verification assessment expertise to help deliver high quality assurance services that meet client needs and industry quality standards.
Based from either our London or Aberdeen offices, with opportunities for onshore and offshore site visits, you'll be stretched but always supported. Upon joining, you'll receive a buddy to help you settle in, a mentor to enhance your technical knowledge, as well as ongoing on the job coaching from your colleagues. As a Graduate, other than your relevant degree, we don't expect any prior experience of process or technical safety, engineering or the Energy industry when you join us; However, we do want you to share our passion for these and demonstrate your curiosity and desire to develop yourself within this exciting area. We try to keep our list of essential requirements to a minimum, but there are a few things needed to qualify for our programme:
- Minimum 2:2 Degree in Chemical / Process Engineering or Process Safety
- Available to join the programme by September 2026
- Passion for developing your skills both professionally and personally including the commitment to complete the appropriate professional registration in your field (Chartership)
- Curious and proactive in learning new skills and knowledge, demonstrating a solution oriented approach, aligning a clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by the Energy Transition and the need for Energy Security for DNV and our clients
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, including confidence in building professional relationships both internally and externally with customers
- Self motivated with the ability to plan and prioritise own time and activities, to meet deadlines and achieve project objectives
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise reports and present complex solutions and ideas to both specialist and non specialist stakeholders
