Teaching Personnel is recruiting graduates for Teaching Assistant roles across a range of secondary school settings in Sunderland and South Tyneside from September 2026. These are schools built around relationships, routine, and genuine student support - and they're looking for people who want to be properly involved, not just present.

Experience working with young people is an advantage, but not essential. What matters more is the right attitude - warm, confident, and genuinely interested in making a difference.

What the role looks like day to day:

• Supporting learning actively in lessons - moving around, engaging, encouraging
• Sitting with students at lunch and contributing to the social fabric of the school
• Supporting literacy, giving feedback, and helping students stay focused and on track
• Getting involved in activities and the wider life of the school
• Finishing with students around 2:15pm, with time for admin and support until 4:30pm

What we're looking for:

• A degree in any discipline
• A confident, approachable, and naturally people-focused personality
• Positive, adaptable, and willing to learn on the job
• Genuine enthusiasm for building relationships with young people
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
