The Opportunity: Candidates will be involved in the site based Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) supervision for major landfill and Containment projects such as installation of gas infrastructure, landfill cell construction, landfill capping, earth works and compaction and restoration works as well as supervision of other geotechnical site investigations and construction projects. Site works will be supplemented by development of detailed design, interpretive and factual reporting, scheduling of laboratory testing, health and safety risk assessment and planning. The successful applicant will have to opportunity to be involved in the day to day running of projects around the north of England and further afield with some potential for overseas working. Given the diverse nature of our business, you will be given the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience and work across multiple geoscience disciplines. You: SLR would like to appoint a motivated and organised Engineer. Candidates should be chartered or working towards chartered status and possess a degree in either Civil Engineering, Waste Management, Applied Geology, Engineering Geology or Environmental Geology, an MSc in a related subject would be a bonus.Candidates are required to demonstrate an understanding of landfill guidance, design, construction, CQA, the development and implementation of site investigation and monitoring strategies together with a sound engineering knowledge.Experience in data collection, assessing and reporting on the CQA protocol and methods required to input on other waste related work including engineering containment and landfill site design would be a bonus.The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills and will form an integral part of the technical support offered within the team.Please note that, due to site travel requirements, a full driving licence valid in the UK is essential for this role.
