About the Team

Our Consulting Highways teams impact the journeys of millions across the UK by partnering with a range of clients on both major design projects and local network improvements.

Our Energy, Lighting and Technology (ELT) practice work across Street Lighting, Technology, Traffic Signals and Electric Vehicle strategy and designs, including all elements of Highways Infrastructure such as Structures, Highways, Drainage and Geotech. Design projects include work with National Highways, Transport Scotland and various Local Authorities, including milestones such as the UK's first carbon neutral road improvement project in Cumbria and improvements on the M66 and A66 with related design and installation projects.

What you'll be doing

As an Electrical Engineering Graduate, your overall objective is to ensure the effective delivery and maintenance of infrastructure services across our varied contracts. You will work alongside the team to:

  • Undertake any work of a technical nature that falls within ability and competence.
  • Prepare design calculations, AutoCAD drawings and documents.
  • Carry out site visits and inspections.
  • Prepare feasibility studies, inspection, assessment, and technical reports ensuring compliance with Amey procedures.
  • Keep up to date with industry best practice and apply this within a team environment.
  • Developing innovative solutions to enhance delivery of projects.
