For September 2026 Gordon's School is seeking a highly organised, professional and proactive Governance Clerk to support our Governing Body and Trustee Committee. This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual with excellent administrative, communication and governance skills to play a vital role in ensuring the effective operation of school governance.
As Governance Clerk, you will provide expert advice and guidance on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, helping Governors and Trustees fulfil their responsibilities and maintain the highest standards of governance.
ResponsibilitiesYou will support the governing body and trustee committee, advise on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, and ensure that the highest standards of governance are maintained.
You will work independently, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times, and manage administrative tasks associated with governance.
The position is approximately 15 hours per week term time plus two weeks, and may include some evenings and weekends.
QualificationsExperience of working with a board, committee, senior leadership team or governance structure, and a strong understanding of effective governance practices.
Excellent organisational skills, the ability to work independently, and proficiency in administration and communication.
