Google Workspace Engineer | Contract | Flexible Day Rate | UK

The opportunity

We're working with a business looking for an experienced Google Workspace Engineer to support the implementation, management and optimisation of its Google Workspace environment.

This is a contract opportunity offering flexibility around the day rate, with the chance to work across a range of Google Workspace technologies and help deliver effective, secure and scalable solutions.

The work

  • Manage, configure and maintain Google Workspace environments

  • Administer user accounts, groups, permissions and access policies

  • Support Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Sheets, Meet and Calendar

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve platform-related problems

  • Manage security settings, identity management and access controls

  • Support Google Workspace migrations, integrations and implementations

  • Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and improve the user experience

  • Ensure the environment follows security best practices and organisational policies


About you

  • Proven experience as a Google Workspace Engineer, Administrator or Consultant

  • Strong knowledge of Google Workspace administration and the Google Admin Console

  • Experience managing users, groups, permissions and security policies

  • Comfortable troubleshooting and resolving technical issues

  • Good understanding of identity and access management

  • Able to work independently and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience supporting business-critical cloud environments

  • Google Admin Console

  • Gmail and Google Drive administration

  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Google Workspace APIs

  • Google Apps Script

  • SSO, SAML and OAuth

  • DNS, MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC

  • Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace migrations

  • Endpoint management and security
