Quotient Sciences: Molecule to Cure. Fast.
Quotient Sciences is a leading drug development and manufacturing accelerator, helping biotech and pharma companies bring new medicines to patients faster. With over 35 years of experience and a track record of success, we provide Drug Product (CDMO) and Clinical (CRO) services across the entire development pathway, including formulation development, clinical pharmacology, clinical trials, and commercial product manufacturing.

Our proprietary and disruptive platform - "Translational Pharmaceutics " - integrates Drug Product Manufacturing and Clinical Testing to eliminate silos in the drug development process. This in turn reduces costs, improves outcomes, and significantly accelerates drug development times.

Why join us:
Because every day counts when bringing new medicines to patients. Our 1,000+ experts across the US, UK, and beyond are united by science, agility, and a culture that turns ideas into impact-fast.

If you're a science graduate or have experience in a GMP, GLP, pharmaceutical or regulated laboratory environment, this could be a great opportunity to take the next step in your career.

We're looking for a GMP Manufacturing Scientist to join our Nottingham team and support the manufacture of Investigational Medicinal Products used in clinical studies. You'll be part of a highly skilled team where accuracy, safety and quality are at the heart of everything we do.

This is a hands on role where you'll be involved in preparing for manufacturing campaigns, supporting GMP production activities, maintaining clear documentation and contributing to the successful delivery of clinical trial manufacturing projects.

You'll also support method development, validation and the transfer of production methods into GMP clinical trial manufacturing. Working closely with Production, QA, Project Management and Pharmaceutical Sciences colleagues, you'll help ensure studies are delivered safely, accurately and to agreed timelines.

Key responsibilities
  • Prepare manufacturing documentation, including working Batch Manufacturing Records, checked labels, cleaning documents, swabbing procedures and COSHH information where required.
  • Set up processing rooms, equipment and consumables ready for manufacturing activities.
  • Manufacture pharmaceutical products in line with GMP standards, SOPs and Good Documentation Practice.
  • Support method development, validation and transfer activities for clinical trial manufacturing.
  • Carry out cleanroom activities, including room set up, equipment preparation and cleaning.
  • Follow approved manufacturing and validation protocols accurately and consistently.
  • Keep clear, detailed and accurate records to support full traceability.
  • Support the day to day running of the Manufacturing Operations group.
  • Assist with booking in, sampling, reconciliation and controlled disposal of development and clinical manufacturing supplies.
  • Support safe working practices, including the storage, use and disposal of radioactive isotopes where applicable.
  • Communicate progress, updates or issues to Production, QA and Project Management teams.
  • Contribute to readiness meetings and support study close down activities, including archiving.
  • Work safely and responsibly in line with all relevant procedures.
Skills and experience required
  • A degree in a science subject, or equivalent relevant experience in a GMP, GLP, pharmaceutical, manufacturing or laboratory setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to follow written procedures, SOPs and protocols.
  • Good documentation skills, with an understanding of the importance of clear and traceable records.
  • Good organisation skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • A proactive and responsible approach to safety, quality and compliance.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Experience in GMP manufacturing or pharmaceutical production.
  • Experience in clinical trial manufacturing or IMP manufacture.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom or controlled environment.
  • Knowledge of Batch Manufacturing Records, COSHH, swabbing, validation or cleaning procedures.
  • Awareness of radiolabelling, radiation safety or radioactive isotope handling.
Learning opportunities

You'll have the opportunity to develop valuable experience in GMP manufacturing, clinical trial supply and pharmaceutical sciences. The role will give you exposure to cleanroom operations, manufacturing documentation, method development, validation and cross functional study delivery.

You'll also build your knowledge of how Investigational Medicinal Products are manufactured for clinical trials, while working alongside experienced colleagues across Production, QA, Project Management and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
