Job Description

This new role offers an exciting opportunity to develop robust and proportionate approaches to managing security and travel risk across our global operations. The postholder will act as the organisation's expert on this topic, developing and implementing new tools globally to support colleagues in managing security and risk as our programme portfolio expands. Acting as Chair of the Security Review Group, the role will be pivotal in organisation-wide security and risk management.

Criteria

To succeed in this role, you should have significant experience managing security risk in an NGO environment at a global level, with strong communication skills to engage staff at various levels and influence senior stakeholders. An awareness of current global political and security trends is essential to ensure Brooke's security policies, travel risk frameworks, and crisis management plans meet the organisation's needs while applying sector best practices.

At Brooke, we celebrate diversity and the innovative ideas it brings. We actively encourage applications from all backgrounds, especially from the global majority, individuals from social mobility backgrounds, disabled and neuro-diverse candidates, and those under 25, as these groups are currently underrepresented at Brooke.

We recognize that studies show women and global majority candidates may be less likely to apply if they feel they do not meet all criteria. If you meet most of the criteria, we encourage you to apply.

We offer flexible working options to support our staff and promote inclusivity.

If you are interested, we would love to hear from you.

Background

People and communities worldwide have solutions to social injustice, authoritarianism, and the climate crisis. However, repressive governments, corrupt corporations, and armed groups often use violence and oppression to silence them. Open Voices supports building resistance and resilience among those challenging unaccountable power.
