Job title: Global Head of Patient Privacy Main responsibilities:

In this role, you will act as a global leader and expert on Health Data Privacy, promote and shape a culture of privacy at every stage of the patient's data life cycle, mastering Sanofi's Thoughtful Risk Taking and Patient-centric approach. Reporting to our Chief Privacy Officer and group DPO, you will lead a team of Privacy Officers.

You will be part of the Sanofi Privacy Leadership team.

  1. Manage and develop a diverse team of Patient Privacy Officers, ensuring they have adequate resources and ongoing expertise and capability to perform their roles.
  2. Chair the Patient Privacy Council, consisting of appointed Privacy Champions, Business Process Owners, and Risk Owners. Through this council, you will drive Sanofi's Health Data Privacy strategy and deliver the Risk Management plan, reporting its status to R&D Executive Leadership through established KPIs.
  3. Drive the design and continuous improvement of Sanofi's Health Data Privacy and AI Ethics standards, ensuring the appropriate balance between compliance, trust, and the optimized use of health data to generate deeper insights for research and medical activities.
  4. Actively monitor privacy and AI regulations/enforcements, and adapt global procedures when required.
  5. Review Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for high-risk data processing activities; oversee the resolution of global health data breaches, ensuring timely notification to data subjects and Data Protection Authorities.
  6. Partner with R&D Business Owners and Legal teams to ensure Global Patients initiatives are compliant with Sanofi's Code of Conduct and Privacy regulations, applying Thoughtful Risk Taking in decision-making.
  7. Co-author internal position papers with Legal, R&D, and Government Affairs; represent Sanofi in industry advocacy efforts with trade associations, patient groups, and data protection regulators.
  8. Drive the effective closure of action plans from regulatory inspections and internal audits.
About you:

Master's or PhD in Life Sciences, Law, or Computer Sciences.

Excellent understanding and experience of the R&D process from drug candidate definition to registration and safety, with experience in regulated environments, project, and compliance management.

Demonstrated experience applying privacy principles and regulations in R&D (CIPP/E, CIPM or similar privacy qualification is mandatory).

Experience working in an international environment with proven team leadership.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to establish credibility and drive decision-making with senior stakeholders, balancing authority with solutions orientation.

Advanced advocacy skills with external stakeholders (regulators, industry peers) to influence regulations and shape the healthcare ecosystem.

Ability to analyze how regulatory, societal, and technological changes impact patient privacy risks, and proactively develop risk mitigation and opportunity strategies.
