6-12 Month Contract Global Manufacturing Organisation

Our client, a global manufacturing organisation, is entering a significant transformation phase across its global indirect procurement function. As part of this change programme, they are seeking to appoint an experienced procurement professional for a key Global Category Manager position focused on Professional Services.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven procurement specialist to operate within a complex international environment, partnering with senior stakeholders and leading strategic sourcing initiatives across global and regional markets.

The successful candidate will take ownership of professional and commercial services categories, leading sourcing strategy, supplier management, contract negotiations and cost optimisation initiatives across a substantial international spend portfolio.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing global category strategies across Professional Services
  • Leading strategic sourcing, supplier selection and contract negotiations
  • Managing supplier performance and driving value creation across the category portfolio
  • Partnering with senior internal stakeholders across procurement, finance, legal and operational functions
  • Supporting transformation and continuous improvement initiatives within the wider indirect procurement function
  • Delivering cost savings, cost avoidance and risk mitigation across complex spend areas
  • Managing high-value contracts and supplier relationships across annual spend in excess of €100 million

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 8-10 years' indirect procurement experience within multinational organisations
  • Strong category management expertise across Professional Services and/or Commercial Services
  • Experience operating at regional or global level within a matrix organisation
  • Proven track record managing complex supplier contracts and strategic sourcing programmes
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management capability
  • Experience managing large-scale spend portfolios exceeding €100 million annually
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Degree qualification and professional procurement certification desirable
