General Teaching Assistant

Grade:C, SCP (3 - 4)

Contract: Permanent

Hours:22.5 hours per week with a working pattern of 8.30am -1pm,Term Time Only plus 5 training days

Aspin Park Academy is a happy and caring academy situated in Knaresborough. We have a vacancy for a General Teaching Assistant to work with our motivated and caring team. This position will be working in KS1 or KS2, but successful candidates must be prepared to work with all ages if asked.

The successful candidate will have experience with working with children across the primary age range and have a good understanding development and differing needs. They will have the ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate flexibility and initiative in the classroom. The successful candidate must hold relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent, full details of the role and person specification can be found in the Job Description.

• Support teaching and learning within the classroom, with a determination to ensure every child achieves their best;
• Work closely with class teachers to accelerate progress of identified groups and individual learners so that no child is left behind;
• Demonstrate high expectations of all the children you work with, and of yourself;
• Play a role in our school community, building relationships with children, families and staff.
