Job Overview

Job Title: General Store Manager - Kent (Crawley). Employment Type: Part time. Contract: Permanent. Hours: 45 per week. Salary: Competitive salary plus benefits. Closing date: 3 August 2026.

Responsibilities

• Plan, strategise and execute day to day operations for key departments - Non Food, Online and Customer - ensuring availability is maximised, waste and shrink are minimised and the store runs efficiently, safely and fully compliant.
• Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and department managers to deliver consistent standards, drive productivity and guarantee the store is always ready for customers.
• Improve delivery flow, stock routines and compliance, acting as the driving force behind achieving operational excellence.
• Lead with empathy and transparency, coach the leadership team and allow ownership to encourage initiative and celebrate progress.
• Maintain a culture of service with heart and pride, driving the selling agenda across the floor and bringing enthusiasm to work each day.
• Use data to inform decisions, lead the shrink agenda, and keep the store legal and compliant for customers and colleagues.

• Data driven - uses insight to make informed decisions and drive operational improvements.
• Experience as a General Store Manager or Operations Manager in a large format retail environment with a track record of operational excellence, availability improvement, waste reduction, and shrink management.
• Proven ability to develop large teams, manage change and build resilience.
• Experience managing ER cases and a solid understanding of HR policies and processes.
• Strong organisational skills and a commitment to exceeding customer service standards.
