General Service Assistant

Overview

We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused General Service Assistant to support our catering team in delivering a high-quality food service. You will assist with food preparation, cooking, and service while ensuring excellent customer service standards. This role requires adherence to company processes, hygiene standards, and health & safety regulations, while maintaining a clean and welcoming Front of House (FOH) dining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, cooking, and service of food in line with approved recipes and menu cycles
• Deliver friendly, efficient customer service in line with company standards
• Maintain portion control, food quality, and presentation standards
• Operate digital systems to ensure accurate and efficient transactions
• Adhere to cash handling and safeguarding procedures
• Ensure food is served and held at correct temperatures, completing required checks
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant FOH environment at all times
• Attend team briefings and complete required training
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, uniform, and PPE compliance
• Report hazards, near misses, accidents, or faulty equipment promptly
• Complete opening and closing procedures, ensuring security requirements are met
• Communicate effectively with managers, colleagues, customers, and client representatives
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by management

What You'll Need

Essential:

• Good verbal communication skills
• Experience in a similar role within the service industry

Desirable:

• Experience working within a military environment
• Level 1 Food Safety, HSWA, and COSHH certificates
