Job Description
General Practitioner (GP) with Specialist Interest in Dermatology

We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Practitioner with a Specialist Interest in Dermatology (GPwSI) to join our expanding dermatology service in Manchester. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, patient-centred dermatology care across a network of community and outpatient clinics. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, multidisciplinary team while developing and utilising specialist dermatology skills in a well-resourced clinical environment.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of dermatological conditions in community and outpatient settings.
  • Perform dermatological procedures as appropriate, including cryotherapy, biopsies, curettage, excisions, and minor skin surgery (dependent on competence).
  • Support triage of dermatology referrals and contribute to effective patient pathway management.
  • Work collaboratively with dermatologists, nurses, GPs, and allied healthcare professionals to deliver seamless, integrated care.
  • Participate in clinical governance activities, including audit, service development, and quality improvement.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide advice, education, and support to primary care colleagues regarding dermatological conditions and best practice.
  • Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain and enhance specialist dermatology expertise.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
  • Diploma in Dermatology or equivalent postgraduate qualification
  • Proven experience in dermatology and evidence of specialist interest (e.g., diplomas, courses, clinical experience).
  • Commitment to high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care.
