We are a welcoming, forward-thinking GP practice seeking a motivated Salaried GP to join us for 4 to 6 sessions per week (with flexibility around working patterns). We are a long established practice with an aim to provide training and education, situated in West Wales. We have approximately 4050 patients. We use the EMIS clinical system, and we are looking for someone who will share our commitment to providing excellent healthcare to our patients, and become part of our team.
Main duties of the jobA key member of the team, the Salaried GP will manage a caseload, dealing with a wide range of presenting health care needs in a primary care setting. The post holder will work with clinical colleagues in ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients. The post holder will also contribute to planning and decision making as part of the practice team; the job description therefore covers clinical and organisation elements.

Good skill-mix, with 4 GP's, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 3 Practice Nurses, Pharmacist and good links with the wider primary care team EMIS clinical system with EMIS Scan

Active with the Cluster Collaborative.
Job responsibilities- To deliver highly effective medical care to the practice population.
- Provide services commensurate with the GMS contract
- Prescribing in adherence to local and national guidelines
- Effectively manage long term and acute conditions
- Complete administration tasks in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptions and other associated administrative tasks.
- Undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles.
- Accurately maintain clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.
- To work collaboratively, with an equal share of the practice workload.
- Adhere to best practice as recommended through clinical guidelines and audit processes.
- Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.
- Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) of the QAIF/Enhanced Services.
- Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training.
- Ensure compliance with the appraisal and revalidation process.
- Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team.
- Support the practice in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure.
- Review and adhere to practice policies at all times.
- Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times.
- Participate in practice audits as required.
- Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery.
- Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach.
REGISTERED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL
All employees who are required to register with a professional body, to enable them to practice within their profession, are required to comply with their code of conduct and requirements of their professional registration.
SUPERVISION
Where the appropriate professional organisation details a requirement in relation to supervision, it is the responsibility of the post holder to ensure compliance with this requirement. If you are in any doubt about the existence of such a requirement speak to your Manager.

Data protection is a top priority for the Company. The Data Protection Act places obligations on the Practice to ensure that data is processed lawfully and stored according to its strict provisions. You are required to uphold the Companys data protection policies when dealing with information about patients, carers, colleagues and other healthcare workers. Our work is of highly confidential nature and information gained must not be communicated to other persons except in the recognised course of duty. Unauthorised disclosure of confidential information will result in disciplinary action and may lead to your dismissal.
Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the Practice may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the Practice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and special category data.

The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the Practice Health & Safety Policy, to include:
1) Using personal security systems within the workplace according to Practice guidelines.
2) Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks.
3) Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills.
4) Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards
6) Act as Chaperone when requested by clinician and in accordance with the Chaperone policy.
