Whatwe are looking for:

We are looking for a professional and experienced General Manager to lead Ireland site to deliver outstanding and sustainable performance for our customers while working in partnership with our supplier and our people. This person will be directly responsible for operations for Hilton Food Ireland and lead and co ordinates site management team on a day to day basis.

Key responsibilities asa General Manager will be to:
  • Act as site leader on a daily basis and as deputy to Managing Director UK & Ireland, aligning internal departments and maintaining relationships with customers, strategic suppliers and other stakeholders with whom the business has touch points in its operations to continually develop the cost effectiveness of the site to meet customer service levels with engaged individuals supported by strong culture aligned to our values and delivery of the strategic compass.
  • Ensure site has safe ways of working and safety and wellbeing is embedded in our culture.
  • Lead site production, planning and production to deliver outstanding products and services to our customers in accordance with specifications, desired cost and service level with ways of working aligned to Fit for the Future operating model including application of S&OP and DRM processes and embedding continuous improvement in our ways of working.
  • Drive the production continuous improvement programme.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Director UK & Ireland and local commercial teams to deliver current and future customer requirements.
  • As part of the UK & Ireland management team significantly contribute to the delivery of the overall annual operating plan and delivery of business strategy and for in particular for Hilton Foods Ireland.
  • Responsible for ensuring site operations are compliant with local regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure delivery Ireland CSR agenda including food waste, energy management and our impact on our community, suppliers and people meeting company goals and external standards, requirements and audit requirements are met.
  • Manage site CAPEX and asset management to meet or exceed business case working collaboratively with Hilton Services engineering and automation teams.
  • Continuously improve site KPIs through proactively monitoring and evaluating performance on health & safety, people, product quality, on time delivery and costs.
  • Ensure site legal responsibilities are met.
  • Deliver industry level quality.
  • Challenge and optimise overhead spend.
  • Deliver the people engagement programme and ensure that people values are at the heart of the site.
  • Drive alongside departmental heads a strategy for growth and a model of the how .
  • Ensure a talent succession pipeline is at the heart of the business across all functions.
Requiredexperience/expertise to succeed as a General Manager will include:
  • Comprehensive operations and general management experience gained within meat or related food processing industries.
  • End to end Supply Chain experience, including procurement, planning, manufacturing and engineering.
  • Proven track record in building high performing teams and strong engagement, safety and quality culture.
  • Ability to analyse situations and provide insight and diagnosis using relevant data and build and deliver action plans.
  • Demonstrable experience of successful internal and external stakeholder relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate technical detail in a compelling way.
