GCP Network/DevOps Engineer

GCP Network Engineer to join a large-scale enterprise cloud programme on a long-term contract. This role offers excellent day rates, a hybrid working model, and the opportunity to work on business-critical Google Cloud networking platforms operating at scale.

You will be responsible for designing, building, managing, and optimising GCP networking services using Infrastructure as Code and DevOps best practices, while supporting both production and non-production environments in a highly controlled enterprise setting.

Key Requirements
  • Strong hands-on experience specialising in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking at enterprise scale
  • Proven experience managing GCP networking resources using Terraform/Terraform Cloud and GitHub
  • In-depth knowledge of GCP networking services including Cloud Router, Google DNS, HA VPN, Dedicated Interconnect, VPC networking & peering, Cloud NAT, Load Balancers, IP Address Management, Private Service Connect, Private Service Access, Service Directory, IAM and VPC Service Controls
  • Experience designing, building, optimising, and supporting production and non-production GCP network environments
  • Solid understanding of connected workloads such as GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Storage and Data/AI services, along with identity and access considerations
  • Strong experience with DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines, using tools such as Git, Terraform Cloud, Jenkins, Harness and HashiCorp Vault
  • Ability to automate infrastructure and operational tasks using Bash and/or Python
  • Hands-on involvement in network deployment, scaling, optimisation, sustaining engineering, and technology refresh initiatives
  • Experience managing incidents, problems, escalations, and root cause analysis to improve platform stability and performance
  • Comfortable reviewing code, collaborating with engineering teams, and owning the life cycle of delivered networking solutions
  • Ability to work in compliance with control, governance, and security requirements
  • GCP certifications are not mandatory if supported by several years of deep, hands-on GCP networking experience
