Job Description

Annual salary: up to £44,000.00

Location: Evesham

Contract start date: 1 July 2026

Contract type: Full-time, Permanent, 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: £44,000.00 + commercial vehicle and fuel card

About the Role

Your role will involve supervising and managing the day to day delivery of gas servicing, repairs, breakdowns and installations across the client's housing stock. You will oversee a team of Gas Operatives and subcontractors, ensuring all work is completed safely, compliantly and to a high standard. The role is focused on ensuring gas appliances and installations are safe for continued use, protecting residents, members of the public, client personnel and Mears employees from potential gas related risks.

Role Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control the work and drive the Health & Safety culture within both the team assigned and the gas team.
  • Monitor progress and completion of works from Operatives and Subcontractors through the MCM system to achieve KPI requirements of the Client.
  • Assist the team in delivering a comprehensive gas maintenance and installation service within domestic premises.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant regulations, standards, and departmental procedures.
  • Hold current domestic ACS certification or equivalent in the required categories of gas work.
  • Complete and maintain all paperwork and electronic data records related to the work carried out.
  • Confirm job completion and provide a comprehensive and accurate history for audit purposes.
  • Maintain records that support quality assurance, health and safety compliance, and invoicing accuracy.
  • Work with other gas supervisors and operational gas team members to learn and uplift knowledge and skills.
  • Monitor engineers' existing stock and collect materials as required to meet works orders, in accordance with SOP for purchasing and van stock control compliance.
  • Carry out informal and formal meetings and training sessions to keep business and job knowledge, communication, skills and progression up to date (e.g. training, re training, toolbox talks, 1:1s, probation reviews).
  • Participate in call out cover when required to ensure contract compliance and service user satisfaction for emergency repairs.
Key Criteria
  • Experience in the above duties.
  • Qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance.
  • Hold valid ACS certification (e.g. CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1).
  • Line management experience.
  • Good understanding of electrical safe isolation and basic wiring principles.
  • Knowledge of current gas safety legislation and compliance standards.
  • Experience working in social housing or local authority environments (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
  • Flexible and willing to travel across properties and attend out of hours call outs.
  • Full UK driving licence.
