Functional Skills Tutor - Gateshead (NE8)

We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Functional Skills Tutor to deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition to students in the Gateshead (NE8) area. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting learners in developing essential English and Maths skills for everyday life, education, and employment.

As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will:

• Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition in Functional Skills (English and/or Maths)
• Plan and deliver engaging sessions tailored to individual learner needs
• Support students in building confidence and improving core skills
• Track progress and adapt teaching methods to suit different abilities and learning styles
• Prepare learners for Functional Skills assessments where required

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Have experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills, English, or Maths
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and clear communication skills
• Be able to plan and deliver structured, engaging sessions
• Be patient, adaptable, and supportive in your approach
• Hold relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
