Functional Assessor - Office and Homeworking

Functional Assessor Fareham (PIP / WCA)

Nurses OTs Physiotherapist Paramedics (PIP only) Pharmacists (PIP only)

Hybrid Monday to Friday Competitive Salary + Bonus

Salary
  • PIP Assessor (3 assessments a day): £45,000 (increases to £47,000 after one year based on performance) + 5% bonus when completed training
  • WCA Assessor (5 assessments a day): £47,000 (increases to £48,000 after one year based on performance) + 5% bonus when completed training
  • Candidates should ideally be open to PIP or WCA depending on local availability
  • 10% bonus available each year based upon performance.
What You'll Do
  • Review all medical and supporting evidence of the claimant
  • Conduct structured assessments based on this evidence either face-to-face, telephone or video
  • Explore their typical day and real-world impact
  • Assess reliability:
    • Can they do it safely, repeatedly, in a reasonable time frame and to an acceptable standard
  • Explore variability (good/bad days, flare-ups, fatigue patterns)
  • Record findings clearly and neutrally
  • Produce high-quality, justified reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
  • Follow DWP safeguarding and professional standards
Training
  • 12-week paid training (full-time) covering:
    • Assessment techniques DWP guidelines
    • Report Writing
    • Fully supported before working independently

Qualifications (Required)
  • Minimum 1-year post registration experience in an adult setting
  • NMC/HCPC registered
  • Full right to work in UK (sponsorship is NOT available)
  • Strong clinical knowledge of long-term conditions and functional assessment
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Confident with IT and typing
